The Directorate of Students' Welfare (DSW) functions as the central body responsible for promoting student welfare, co-curricular activities, and extracurricular programmes across all constituent colleges of Assam Veterinary and Fishery University (AVFU). Initially, the students' welfare activities of the College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara were administered under the Directorate of Students' Welfare of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. Subsequently, a Deputy Director of Students' Welfare was designated at the Khanapara campus under the administrative control of the Directorate at Jorhat.
Following the establishment of Assam Veterinary and Fishery University (AVFU) as an independent University, a separate Directorate of Students' Welfare was constituted in 2025. Dr. Robin Bhuyan was appointed as the first Director of Students' Welfare, while Dr. Masuk Raquib serves as the Deputy Director of Students' Welfare at the Khanapara campus.
At present, the Directorate functions through three Deputy Directors of Students' Welfare (DDSW), one at each constituent college campus, ensuring effective coordination and uniform implementation of student welfare policies throughout the University.
Each Deputy Director supervises student welfare and campus-related activities at the respective constituent college, thereby ensuring effective implementation of University policies and maintaining close coordination with the central Directorate.
