ABOUT

INCUBATION CENTRE / START-UP / ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND PLACEMENT CELL

The Incubation Centre / Start-Up / Entrepreneurship and Placement Cell has been established to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, skill development, industry collaboration, and student placement activities across the Faculty of Veterinary Science and its constituent colleges under Assam Veterinary and Fishery University (AVFU). The Cell serves as a dedicated platform to nurture entrepreneurial thinking, support start-up initiatives, facilitate industry–academia interactions, and enhance career opportunities for students.

The Cell actively encourages students, researchers, and faculty members to transform innovative ideas into viable ventures through mentorship, guidance, networking opportunities, and collaboration with industries, government agencies, and other stakeholders. It also coordinates placement drives, career counselling programmes, internships, industrial training, entrepreneurship awareness programmes, and skill development initiatives to enhance students' employability and professional competence.

The Incubation Centre / Start-Up / Entrepreneurship and Placement Cell has been constituted as per Notification No. AVFU/R(K)/05/2025-26/3850-905 dated 21.02.2026 to strengthen innovation, entrepreneurship development, industry linkage, and placement support within the University.

OBJECTIVES & FUNCTIONS

OBJECTIVES OF THE CELL

  • To promote innovation, start-up culture, and entrepreneurship among students.
  • To facilitate incubation support for technology-based ventures in veterinary and allied sectors.
  • To strengthen collaboration with industries, government bodies, and research institutions.
  • To organize Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs), workshops, expert lectures, and industry interactions.
  • To coordinate campus recruitment drives and placement opportunities.
  • To provide career guidance, higher studies counselling, and support for competitive examinations.
  • To assist students in developing business proposals aligned with national initiatives.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Identification and mentoring of student innovators and entrepreneurs.
  • Promotion of intellectual property awareness and commercialization.
  • Development of industry–academia interface.
  • Maintenance of placement records and alumni linkage.
  • Coordination with University authorities for incubation support.
