The Department of Animal Nutrition is one of the academic departments of Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science, Assam Veterinary and Fishery University, Joyhing, North Lakhimpur Campus.

Presently, the department imparts undergraduate education in the field of Animal Nutrition to students pursuing the B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme in the Second Professional Year as per the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) syllabus.

The department has well-equipped laboratories required for undergraduate teaching as well as for conducting faculty research activities.

The department is presently undertaking a North Eastern Council (NEC) sponsored project entitled "Setting up of Animal Feed Production Units in North East India" in the college campus. Under this project, a Livestock Feed Production Unit has already been commissioned where different livestock and poultry feeds will be produced.
