1 Capacity building and doubling the income of local pig rearers through assisted reproductive technology in the North Bank of Brahmaputra 2022 - 2025 Dr. Arunoday Das

Salient Achievements

  • Providing regular technical support to Veterinary Officers of the North Bank Plain of Assam and neighbouring districts of Arunachal Pradesh, with special emphasis on addressing infertility problems in livestock.
  • Providing Artificial Insemination (AI) facilities for cattle, goats and pigs through the Veterinary Clinical Complex (VCC), LCVSc, and nearby areas of Joyhing, North Lakhimpur.
  • Conducted hands-on training on "Artificial Insemination in Pig" for field-level veterinary workers of Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts.
  • A collaborative initiative between the State Veterinary Department, Government of Assam, and the Department of Animal Reproduction, Gynaecology & Obstetrics (ARGO), LCVSc, AVFU has been initiated to establish boar semen collection centres in Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts.
  • Published 07 extension leaflets in Assamese for practicing farmers.
