Salient Achievements

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with Sarupather College on 19 March 2025 for introducing a Certificate Course on Advanced Fish Farming.

A Solar Hybrid Kiln Dryer Prototype was developed in collaboration with the Department of Fish Processing Technology and the Department of Fisheries Engineering for hygienic dry fish production. The technology is currently under the process of patenting.

Conducted 7 cage aquaculture demonstrations across seven districts of Assam during 2020.

Organized 15 farmer training programmes on Polyculture in Pond Fisheries, benefiting over 1,100 farmers during 2020.

Implemented 9 technology demonstrations on Multiple Stocking and Multiple Harvesting of Fish under the APART project during 2020.

Organized 15 training programmes for over 2,000 beneficiaries under the APART project during 2021 covering topics including:
- Polyculture in Pond Fisheries
- Polyculture with Freshwater Prawn
- Climate Resilient Paddy-Fish Culture
- Value Addition
- Quality Fish Seed Production
- Beel Fisheries Management

Conducted 10 technology demonstrations on Multiple Stocking and Multiple Harvesting of Fish during 2022.

Organized 10 training programmes benefiting approximately 1,000 participants across 15 districts of Assam under APART during 2022.

Conducted 7 technology demonstrations on the preparation of Fish Pickle across seven districts during 2022.

Successfully organized a Good Quality Fish Seed Distribution Programme on the occasion of National Fish Farmers' Day during 2023.

Conducted 10 technology demonstrations on the preparation of hygienic dry fish using solar tent dryers with electrical backup across ten districts of Assam during 2023.

Conducted 10 technology demonstrations on Short Duration Fish Culture Technology during 2024.

Organized a Farmers' Training Programme for approximately 200 farmers on National Fish Farmers' Day in collaboration with the District Industries and Commerce Centre (DICC), Nagaon during 2025.

Successfully organized two three-day residential training programmes for representatives of 60 Cooperative Societies jointly with the Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Government of Assam.
