The Directorate of Students' Welfare (DSW) functions as the central body responsible for student welfare, co-curricular and extracurricular activities across all constituent colleges of Assam Veterinary and Fishery University (AVFU).Initially, the students' welfare activities of the College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara were administered under the Directorate of Students' Welfare of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. Subsequently, a Deputy Director of Students' Welfare was designated at the Khanapara campus under the administrative control of the Directorate at Jorhat. Following the establishment of AVFU as an independent University, a separate Directorate of Students' Welfare was constituted in the year 2025. Dr. Rabin Bhuyan was appointed as the first Director of Students' Welfare. Dr. Masuk Raquib serves as the Deputy Director of Students' Welfare at the Khanapara campus.
At present, the Directorate operates through three Deputy Directors of Students' Welfare (DDSW), one at each constituent college campus, namely:

The Directorate supervises hostel administration across all campuses of AVFU. Each hostel is managed by a designated Warden, while the Deputy Director of Students' Welfare of the respective campus functions as the Chief Warden.
