Dr. Kushal Konwar Sarma, Prof & Head, alumnus of the department have bagged Padmashree Award as First Veterinarian in the country and first in the history of AAU (2020) .
Produced all total 105 MVSc Scholars and 15 PhD Scholars till 2024.
Many of passed out surgeons has done excellent works in government, private and wild life sectors.
Department faculties and students have extended notable support in wildlife conservation and treatment in time to time. Major achievement in wild to wild rhino translocation under VISION RHINO-2020, GOI.
Department handled on average 1500 numbers clinical cases yearly in referral OPD.
Departmental faculties have involved each year in numbers of treatment, sterilization cum vaccination camp, diagnostic and treatment for both companion and farm animal.
Technology developed named "Medication shoe for Captive Elephants" and Technology in pipeline named "Caponization in pati Duck".
