Salient achievements
- Dr Atul Borgohain, Professor, Nominated to IRC meeting as member at National Research Centre on Yak (ICAR), Dirang on 18th June, 2012.
- Dr Atul Borgohain, Professor Acted as member of State Wildlife Board of Assam in its 6th session on 3rd April, 2012 at CM's Office at Dispur.
- Village Extension camp organised in 11th August, 2013 at Molang and Athiaboi village of Kamrup District.
- A National Seminar on "Extension Approaches for Inclusive Agricultural Development in Hilly, Tribal and Backward Areas" on 20-22nd August, 2013 was successfully organised by the Deptt jointly with Indian Veterinary Extension Forum.
- Collaborative Programme with IIE
a)Fringe area development activities under Joint Forest Management Committee
b)Adopted village at Pyronga and near about villages under Boko Development Villages
- Organized Animal Treatment cum Vaccination Camp every year for 4th year students
- Organized Participatory Extension Activities like PRA (Social mapping, Resource mapping, Time line, Venn diagramming, transect walk etc) every year since 2013
- Model Training Course (MTC) on Capacity Building of Livestock Entrepreneurship Development for Field Functionaries of North East Region from 23-29th September, 2016.
- One student has been appointed as Scientist through ARS examination, 9 in Teaching position, 12 in Veterinary Officer, Two in Assam Public service commission.
- 19 numbers of studetns cleared ICAR NET, 6 nos of students cleared UGC NET and 3 nos of students cleared UGC JRF.
- Every year the Department organized treatment cum vaccination camp as part of PRA programme. Moreover this department also conducted different training programme and awareness camp for the farmers.
- International seminar, National Seminar and National level training programme for Veterinary Officer was organized.
- This Department awarded 15 nos of PhD and 74 nos of MVSc degree.
