Salient achievements
- Formulated area specific mineral mixture AAUVETMIN which was commercialized by the Director of Research (Vety) with SDB Agrochem, Guwahati - 781026.
- Seasonal mapping of environmental parameters Temperature Humidity Index (THI) documented.
- Porcine GIT microbes as a good source of probiotic were identified.
- Heat stress related protein expressions at different THI have been mapped.
- Developed suitable ultra rapid freezing protocol using vitrification with open pulled straw technique on bovine oocyte resulting in in vitro embryonic development. The polyadenylation pattern of PAPOLA, GJA1, and HSP70 genes can be used as predictive tools for oocyte developmental competence in vitro.
- Standardized Neutral Comet assay by Single Cell Gel Electrophoresis for sperm DNA integrity as an important criterion for in vitro semen evaluation.
- Standard protocol for mRNA extraction, LM-PAT and PCR amplification from vitrified oocytes have been achieved in the laboratory.
- Expression of marker genes in cumulus cells and oocytes in relation to developmental and vitrification competence of bovine oocytes.
- Successfully developed and standardized pig fibroblast cell culture and their cryopreservation.
- Standardized the basic protocols of pig cloning with production of cloned embryos.
- Artificial hatching of Pati ducks are standardized.
- Aflatoxin challenged Pati ducks are raised in the ICAR-NASF project of the department.
- Organized XXIV Annual Conference of Society of Animal Physiologists of India & National Symposium on Physiological Approaches for Development of Climate Resilient Livestock Farming.
- Training on "In vitro Assessment of Endocrine Glands" supported by ASTEC, Govt. of Assam.
- Basic training on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) with special reference to in vitro fertilization sponsored by Assam Science Technology and Environment Council, Govt. of Assam.
- 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Institute Level SAPI Quiz and 2nd and 5th Zonal Level SAPI Quiz organized by Deptt. of Veterinary Physiology, C.V.Sc., AAU, Khanapara.

- Establishment of Duck farm under the ICAR-NASF project "Aflatoxin tolerant duck production through genetic and epigenetic approaches".
- Establishment of Hatchery for duck eggs in the department.
- Dr. Anubha Baruah was awarded Editorial Excellence Award as Editorial Board Member of Indian Journal of Agricultural Research on 14th March 2016.
- DR. N.S.R. Sastry Eight Sister North East Best LPM Research Award offered to Dr. Dilruba Hasin for Ph.D. research under the guidance of Dr. Arundhati Bora, Dept. of Veterinary Physiology, C.V.Sc., AAU, Khanapara.
- APA Fellow 2018 was conferred to Dr. Jitendra Goswami, Professor and Head, Department of Physiology, C.V.Sc., AAU, Khanapara.
- A week long training on "Endocrinological Assay Techniques" from 2nd Dec to 8th Dec, 2024 has been organized in the department.
- Nanoparticles in the semen extender can efficiently increase sperm quality parameters in cryopreserved semen and suppress lipid peroxidation with enhancement of antioxidant enzymes.
- Best Ph.D. Thesis Award (2025) for doctoral research on ultrasonographic monitoring of ovarian dynamics in cows.
