The Department is imparting teaching of Pharmacology and Toxicology courses to the students of B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree programmes as per VCI (MSVE 2016) syllabus. At present seven batches of undergraduate students have completed their courses.

At present the department is implementing three research projects sponsored by Assam Science, Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC), Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) and Numida Biotec Pvt. Ltd. on pharmacological studies. Two research projects sponsored by RKVY and Missing Autonomous Council (MAC) have already been successfully completed.
The staff members of the department regularly undertake extension activities in rural areas in collaboration with the State Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, District Administration, Missing Autonomous Council (MAC), NGOs and other agencies.
